Mastering Graphic Liner: The Colorful Double-Winged Eye ft. Natasha Denona’s Retro Glam Palette

Graphic eyeliner has been dominating social media feeds and runways for a while now. It’s bold, artistic, and instantly eye-opening. But how do you translate those sharp, geometric lines into a wearable glam look?

In her latest tutorial, Natasha Denona answers that question using the gorgeous, vintage-inspired tones of the Retro Glam Palette.

Instead of using a harsh liquid liner, Natasha uses eyeshadow to create a soft yet defined "double-wing" effect. By utilizing the palette's unique combination of sage greens and cool-toned pinks, she creates a look that is equal parts retro elegance and modern creativity.

Why This Look Works

The magic of this look lies in the complementary colors. The Retro Glam palette is built on the contrast between greens and pinks.

  • The Greens: Used to create structure, depth, and the graphic "winged" lines.

  • The Pinks: Used on the lid to bring light forward and make the green structure pop.

The "double wing" technique—placing a defined line in the socket above the traditional wing—serves to "lift" the eye and create the illusion of a deeper crease.

Step-by-Step: The Retro Glam Double Wing

1. Sculpting the Shape with Greens

Natasha starts by building the structure of the eye using the matte green shades.

  • Using a fluffy brush, apply the lighter sage green as a transition shade through the crease and blowing it outwards.

  • Switch to a smaller, more precise brush and the deep teal-green shade. Focus this color on the outer V to build depth and begin sketching the initial outward wing shape along the lash line.

2. "Cutting" the Crease with Pink

Rather than using concealer to cut the crease, Natasha uses color.

  • Take a flat brush and pack the matte, dusty pink shade all over the mobile lid.

  • Pro Technique: Use the crisp edge of the flat brush pressed against the deep green crease color to sharpen the line and define the lid space.

3. Adding the Retro Sparkle

To give the look that signature Natasha Denona glamour, layer the shimmering metallic pink shade right in the center of the lid over the matte pink base. This creates a "wet-look" spotlight effect.

4. The "Double Wing" (The Floating Crease)

This is the defining step of the look.

  • Using a small, precise pencil brush and the deep teal-green shade again, sketch a thin line right in the socket of your eye (or slightly above your natural crease if you have hooded eyes).

  • Follow the natural curve of your eye socket, connecting the outer end slightly toward the main outer wing. This creates that floating, graphic effect.

5. The Lower Lash Line & Details

Balance the look by mirroring the top lid on the bottom. Apply the deep green to the outer and inner corners of the lower lash line, and pop the shimmering pink in the center.

  • Finish with a bright, sparkling inner corner highlight to open up the eyes completely.
