Sculpt, Define, & Bloom: Mastering Your Lip Shape ft. the I Need A Rose Collection
We’ve all been there: you find a beautiful lipstick, swipe it on, and… it just doesn't look quite like it did in the photos. Often, the missing piece isn't the color—it's the contouring.
In her recent tutorial, Natasha Denona uses her romantic I Need A Rose collection to demonstrate her signature "Lip Architecture" technique. This collection is a love letter to the perfect rose-toned lip, featuring creamy lipsticks and high-performance liners designed to flatter every skin tone.
The Collection: A Trio of Rose Perfection
The I Need A Rose collection is curated into three distinct rose identities, each with a matching Lip Crayon and Lipstick:
Calla: A warm, brownish-rose (The perfect "everyday" nude).
Daphne: A sophisticated mauve-rose (The "cool-toned" classic).
Peony: A fresh, classic pink-rose (The "youthful" pop).
How to Perfect Your Lip Shape: Natasha’s Step-by-Step
1. The "X" Marks the Spot
Don’t start at the corners! Natasha begins at the Cupid’s Bow.
Use the I Need A Rose Lip Crayon to draw a crisp "X" on the peaks of your upper lip.
Pro Tip: If your lips are asymmetrical, this is the moment to slightly over-line one peak to match the other.
2. The Bottom-Up Lift
To create a "pouty" effect without the filler, Natasha focuses on the center of the bottom lip.
Draw a horizontal line at the very base of the center of your bottom lip.
This creates a shadow effect that makes the lip look fuller and more three-dimensional.
3. Connect from the Corners
Now, connect the corners of your mouth to the center points you just created.
The Secret: Instead of drawing one long, shaky line, use short, light strokes.
The Shape: If you want a "lifted" look, keep the corners tight and slightly over-line only at the very center of the top and bottom lips.
4. The "Fill" for Longevity
Before applying lipstick, Natasha lightly fills in the outer edges of the lips with the Lip Crayon. This prevents the lipstick from bleeding and ensures that as the color wears off throughout the day, you aren't left with just a "ring" around your mouth.
5. The Creamy Finish
Finally, apply the I Need A Rose Lipstick over the top. The formula is incredibly creamy and high-shine, providing a "luminous" finish that reflects light and makes the lips look hydrated and plump.
Why "I Need A Rose" is Different
Unlike many long-wear lip products that can feel drying or look "flat," this collection is infused with skincare-grade ingredients. The Lip Crayons are waterproof and smudge-proof (once they set, they stay!), while the Lipsticks provide a buttery, comfortable feel that lasts for hours.
