How To Use: Concealer vs corrector

A common question that I receive is how to best conceal blemishes, brighten under-eye circles and neutralize hyperpigmentation and often times, they're unsure whether to use concealer, corrector or both. Overall, I've noticed people really struggle with understanding the differences between concealer vs corrector

Whether you're brightening dark circles, covering blemishes or correcting hyperpigmentation, knowing when and how to effectively use each product can seamlessly elevate your final look. I'm here to teach you how to use both — together or separately — for a flawless finish every time you do your makeup routine.

CONCEALER VS CORRECTOR

WHAT ARE THE KEY DIFFERENCES?

Concealer and corrector each have unique and distinct purposes.

My HY-GLAM CONCEALER is formulated to effortlessly conceal blemishes, imperfections and brighten under-eye circles. For example, to conceal blemishes and brighten the under-eyes, choose a concealer shade that seamlessly blends into your natural skin tone — your perfect shade match. If you don't have very dark circles, your exact match will do the job beautifully.

For brightening BROWN under-eye circles, opt for a rosy HY-GLAM CONCEALER shade to instantly refresh the under-eye area. Brown circles are typically caused by a mixture of melanin in the skin, combining black pigment with a yellow undertone. Since red is opposite yellow on the color wheel, rosy tones help correct and brighten the under-eyes for a more awakened look.

As the name suggests, my HY-GLAM CORRECTOR is designed to correct unwanted tones, creating the perfect canvas for the next steps in your beauty routine. Guided by color theory, my correctors work by targeting hues opposite on the color wheel to cancel out visible discoloration, such as under-eye circles and hyperpigmentation

For example, to correct BLUE under-eye circles, use an orange-based HY-GLAM CORRECTOR shade as orange is opposite blue on the color wheel. Similarly, hyperpigmentation often appears grey-brown-beige — the coolest tones in the skin. Since orange is the warmest shade, it immediately neutralizes the cool undertones of these dark spots.

You can use both together (first, use the corrector and then concealer) for an even more flawless finish, or separately depending on your individual needs and preferences.

when to use it?

Before and after using HY GLAM Concealer, one side without showing natural discoloration and one side with providing coverage and brightening the under eye area.

Concealer is ideal for covering blemishes and any imperfections — basically any areas where you need a little extra coverage and attention. Whether you're dealing with acne spots or an uneven complexion, a great concealer blends into your skin, providing undetectable, natural coverage.

My HY-GLAM CONCEALER is the perfect addition to your makeup bag — medium-buildable, long-wearing and crease-proof. I expertly designed it to offer a full-performance luminous matte finish while providing skincare benefits, such as hydrating, brightening dark circles, reducing puffiness and blurring the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time with 28 days of daily use.

CORRECTOR

WHEN TO USE IT?

The 2-step process of using Natasha

Correctors are absolutely incredible for targeting specific skin concerns such as blue-toned under-eye circles, redness and hyperpigmentation. They neutralize these discolorations, creating a perfected, balanced base for your concealer or a perfectly brightened under-eye. My HY-GLAM CORRECTOR comes in 6 shades, from fair to deep, designed to counteract unwanted tones and discoloration, providing flawless, even coverage that I know you will love.

Apply it before concealer to enhance coverage or wear it alone depending on the targeted area for a natural, skin-like correction.
